What equipment do I need to officiate football?

 

These are the typical items needed to officiate football in Arizona:

  • Shirt (with AIA and PVWH logos)

  • Black shorts with Belt Loops (for Non-Varsity games)


  • Black Shoes


  • Black Pants or Knickers (Only for Varsity games)
    (Not required for 1st or 2nd year officials)

  • Black with white pipstripes Hat

  • Belt

  • Game Card


  • Chain Clip


  • Whistle with landyard

  • Penalty Flag


  • Bean Bag


  • Down Indicator


A typical cost for all equipment to start out is around $175.

 

For Varsity games: Black pants or White Knickers (w/ stripe socks) are acceptable by the AIA. A position placket will also be on your shirt.

 

For Non-Varsity games: Black short will be worn. No position placket is required.

 

For All AIA games:Shirts will need an AIA and Victory with Honor logos.
