Dear Mr. Wrenn;
My officiating crew is scheduled to work your
football game with Gilbert on Friday, October 8th. My schedule shows a start time of 7:30
PM. Crew assignments are as follows:
Referee John
Dienes
Umpire Dean Angelo
Line
Judge Marcellus Lisotta
Linesman Rick Ziv
Back Judge Joel Sewald
We anticipate arriving at your facility between 5:30
and 6:00 PM to dress and conduct our crew's pre-game discussions. Upon our arrival, we will look forward to
meeting a representative of your staff to assist us in directions to dressing
facilities and answer any safety, security, or facility related questions. Key items of interest to us are as follows:
1.
Crew Security: We request
that an adequate security escort be afforded our crew to/from the field prior
to game, at half time, and at the conclusion of the contest as well as escort
to the parking area after shower and dressing.
2.
Player Security: Should the
players exit the field at the same location at half time and at the end of the
contest; we request that a security presence be stationed at that location as a
precautionary measure.
3.
Sportsmanship: Our crew
actively works with coaches and players alike to foster an atmosphere of good
sportsmanship. Likewise, we
respectfully ask the assistance of your staff to communicate the importance of
displaying good sportsmanship to coaches and players at every opportunity.
4.
Dressing Facility: We request
that adequate dressing facilities be provided that has shower facilities as
well as the capability of being locked when not occupied to protect personal
belongings.
5.
Half Time: Our
schedule shows a half time of 15 minutes.
Should special activities require extending half time to 20 minutes,
please inform me upon arrival.
6.
Band Activity: Band
activity is equally as important as the game itself. As such, we want band(s) to take advantage of every minute
afforded them; however, their activities should be choreographed to ensure the
game schedule is followed. Please
ensure the field is clear to accommodate a coin toss at 7:27 PM as well as
having a clear field to start the second half on time. We find that personal involvement by the
AD’s staff ensures events occur as scheduled.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to
call me at home. Your staff has a
great reputation for the hospitality and support extended to AIA football
officiating crews and we look forward to seeing you on the 8th.
Respectfully,
